“We see what happened with the police and military in Cauca, how they asked for help and they were not helped, we see the lack of political will and peace on the part of the government and that is why we join the request for the resignation of the Minister of Defense because he has been unable to provide security conditions for Colombians, we are concerned that there will be an impact in the region of this wave of violence that occurs in Cauca”; expressed the social leader.

In addition, Mayorga has indicated that there is concern in the department regarding the actions of armed groups that are present in the area and that they may increase their attacks against the civilian community in regions such as Catatumbo and the border area.

“It was recently presented the murder of a union leader in Tibú, the kidnapping of a young woman in the municipality of Ocaña and the wave of violence that is occurring in the city of Cúcuta, there is no peace in the region at all, on the contrary, there is a lot of concern.”
