This Thursday with the presence of the Chief and Deputy Chief of Police, Joaquín Girvau and Roque Yñigo, the police staff, Penitentiary Service and the auditor of the Provincial Institute of Housing and Urban Development, Nora Belloni, The final practice of the “National Police Negotiator Course” and the “Management Day” was developed.

Also present in the operation were representatives of the Airport Security Police, representatives of the police of San Luis, Córdoba, Jujuy, Salta, Rio Negro and Chubut.

The police chief highlighted the importance of this training and the deployment that was carried out in the simulated activity, to train participants from several provinces.

“The truth is that for the Tucumán Police it is very important, because our Group CERO gave a course on negotiator and management at the national level with participants from other provinces who were trained by personnel from our police” remarked the Chief of Police, Commissioner General Joaquín. Girvau.

The final practice was a simulated attempted robbery, which led to the hostage-taking of a family that was in their home and which required the intervention of specialized CERO personnel. Commissioner Mariano Domínguez, in charge of the Special Forces Directorate, explained the work that was carried out in a block of the Manantial Sur neighborhood, which was supervised by the general director of Special Units, Fabio Ferreyra.

“The students were put in extreme situations where they had to apply all the knowledge acquired during three weeks, in the exercise that was proposed. The situation was addressed as a result of a frustrated robbery and in an effort to escape from the police officers, the criminals (who were also police officers) attacked a house where a family was and took them hostage. According to this, an intervention protocol was applied in which different police force units participated, such as the Urban District Division, Citizen Prevention Directorate, Motorized Operations Division, Firefighters, 107 and the different teams that the Directorate has. of Special Forces ZERO,” explained Domínguez.

For his part, the main officer Milciades Ávila highlighted the importance of the negotiator’s work in a crisis situation, since he must always preserve people’s lives.

“It is the first time that this course has been held, which is why it is historic that it has been held in our province, since it is very important that every police force has trained personnel and can manage the resources that the police institution has, to save lives and apply the Law. The job of the negotiator will always be to preserve life, in this case a crisis situation with hostage taking must preserve the lives of the victims, the captors, the intervening personnel and as well as third parties interveners,” explained the main officer.

Police officer Gustavo Garnica of the San Luis Police, who performs his duties in the Directorate of Special Units, celebrated his participation in this training because he considers that the Tucumán security force is one of the most trained in the country.

“I showed up because it is an analogous special forces unit and it is one of the most trained in the country. It has been very demanding on an intellectual level, as well as on a practical level, it has lived up to what we came for. It is also important to highlight the treatment we had, they received us in a very pleasant way, from the institute to the chief staff, instructors received us very well,” concluded the San Luis police officer.

To close, the head of the police force highlighted the great human capital that the Police have. “We must feel proud of the human personnel that this Directorate has that gives many results, to us, to the force and to society. That is why I want to congratulate all the personnel of the Special Rescue and Operations Corps (CERO) on behalf of the Headquarters, “Deputy Headquarters and the Minister of Security.”
