The local audiovisual had the support of the Ministry of Education for its dissemination and allowed 5th and 6th year students from different educational institutions to educate themselves through work.

The Minister of Education was present at the screening of the film about the Tucumán leader Bernabé Aráoz.

At the Sacred Heart School, the presentation of the film “I am Bernabé Aráoz, un caudillo de Tucumán” was held, a local audiovisual production that had the support of the Ministry of Education for its dissemination and that allowed 5th and 6th grade students year from different educational institutions could be educated through work.

The meeting was headed by the Minister of Education, Susana Montaldo and the director of the film, Fabián Soberón; accompanied by the president of the Cultural Entity of Tucumán, Humberto Salazar; the Secretary of Education, Gabriela Gallardo; the director of Secondary Education, Rosa Casares; the director and deputy director of Public Education of Private Management, Robert Day and Guadalupe Corral; and the legislator Agustín Romano Norri.

Also present were the rector of the Sacred Heart School, Fernando Alvarez; the legal representative of the institution, Guillermo Di Lella; the director of the Film School of the National University of Tucumán, Juan Carlos Veiga. In addition, students from Colegio Sagrado, Gymnasium UNT, and Santa Catalina were invited.

The documentary about the local hero worked with several resources: interviews with specialist historians, the figure of the historian Facundo Nanni who orders his hypotheses to reveal the enigma Bernabe Araoz and the scenes of the artists who paint the images of the leader. Who was Barnabas? This question is interpreted by historians, specialists in the 19th century in Tucumán.

“I am very happy to see this production by Fabián Soberón and Facundo Nanni with a great cast and the participation of historians from Tucumán. “There are many institutions that have participated so that we have this high-quality product about our history, about a paradigmatic character and of great educational value because it refers us to the history of Tucumán and highlights the figure of a character who has had a great role,” summarized Minister Susana Montaldo.

In turn, Fabián Soberón, assessed “the day has come after three years of work, this film began in 2021 in the middle of the pandemic. We met with Facundo Nanni and started the work process, we spent a lot of time researching and then writing the script. Of course, we invited other historians specializing in the 19th century and the particular period of Bernabe Aráoz’s life.”

“I want to highlight the support of the Ministry of Education, which plays a key role in disseminating the film at the exhibition stage,” he added.

Finally, Facundo Nanni concluded “it is a collective achievement, a team effort plus the figure of the Ministry of Education, supporting the discipline of History, but also Cinema, which has allowed us to vindicate Bernabé Aráoz 200 years after his death. ”
