Governor Erasmo Zuleta rejects blockades of PAE food transportation in the south of Córdoba

The governor of Córdoba Erasmo Zuleta Bechara regretted the situation of blockades of vehicles that transport food from the School Feeding Program, PAE, to educational institutions in the south of Córdoba, which was reported by the service operator.

The statement was made in development of the program monitoring table held this Thursday in Ciénaga de Oro.

“Illegal armed groups are blocking the entry of trucks and cars that supply food in Puerto Libertador and Montelíbano. It is painful to see how these groups affect the nutrition of thousands of children in these municipalities. For this reason, we make an urgent call to the National Government and the Ministry of Defense: How long will we allow insecurity and anxiety to dominate our department? It’s not just extortion and micro-drug trafficking; Now the feeding of our children is also at stake,” said the Cordoba president.

He added that “from the department, together with the Police and the Army, we are looking for how to guarantee access to food for our children and young people in the south of Córdoba.”
