In an effort to address the concerns of the 47 municipalities of the Department in the face of the imminent season of heavy rains, the Government of Tolima delivered to the director of the National Risk Management Unit (UNGRD), Carlos Carrillo, the urgent needs for machinery and humanitarian aid.

Ericka Lozano, Secretary of Environment and Risk Management of Tolima, reported that the Government attended in person the UNGRD Crisis Room, convened by its general director, Carlos Carrillo. During this meeting, Lozano highlighted that “a detailed balance was delivered of the situation that Tolima is experiencing as a result of the rainiest season, raising with it the request made by the 47 municipalities regarding the need for yellow machinery and humanitarian aid.

In response to these requests, the National Government committed to the indigenous brigades “…Make a donation to the indigenous brigades for the work that is being done in an articulated manner with the different Tolima reservations, with the aim of providing support on the different banks of the Magdalena River.”added Ericka Lozano.
