In this way, the process of formulating the most important document for the people of Boyacá advances in the final stretch.

Tunja, May 23, 2024. (UACP). The Boyacá Grande with a future without turning back, dreamed of by Governor Carlos Amaya and thousands of women and men, is close to having its most valuable tool for territorial development.

This is the Departmental Development Plan 2024-2027 ‘Our great plan is Boyacá’, a document built together with 12,461 inhabitants of the 13 provinces, the border district of Cubará and the Special Management Zone of Puerto Boyacá, and with the help of all sectors and population groups from 300 work tables.

Once the stages of enlistment, citizen participation, systematization, and processing before bodies such as the Departmental Planning Council and the regional autonomous corporations have been completed, the plan moves through the final stretch in the Boyacá Assembly, where it was already approved in the first debate.

“The objective of this development plan is to transform lives and for that we are proposing the largest public investment in the history of the Department. Now we are going to a second plenary debate where each article will also be reviewed,” said the Secretary of Planning, Jairo Neira Sánchez, who also said that this includes all the needs identified in the participatory meetings.

For the Secretary, the document “is comprehensive and complete.” There are $9.75 billion pesos that will respond to the identified needs of the department, seeking sustained economic growth that allows greater opportunities, the recognition of care, the reduction of all forms of violence, the protection of biological wealth and water resources, as well as valuing cultural diversity.

After the opposition session and second debate, scheduled for the next few days, the process will conclude.
