Belize demands the US remove Cuba from the terrorist list

In a statement, the Government of this country described the inclusion of Havana in the blacklist, prepared by the State Department of the northern nation, as an arbitrary decision.

He specified that said action is based on unfounded accusations, “since there is no evidence that the Government of the Republic of Cuba is involved in such activities.”

The Belizean Executive called on the American to immediately remove the largest of the Antilles from that list and referred to the suffering caused to the Cuban people as a consequence of said maneuver.

Likewise, he encouraged Washington to continue the process to normalize its relations with Havana.

“Belize will continue, together with the member states of the Caribbean Community, to call for the lifting of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States Government on Cuba and the elimination of Cuba from the list of State Sponsors of Terrorism,” he added. the note.

Last week, the United States removed Cuba from the group of countries that do not fully cooperate in its fight against terrorism, but kept it on the black list of State sponsors of terrorism.
