Mexico achieves second bronze in Pan American Artistic Gymnastics in Colombia | National Commission of Physical Culture and Sports | Government

This Thursday, the Mexican artistic gymnastics delegation added its second team bronze medal in the Pan American Youth and Senior Championship of the discipline, which takes place in Santa Marta, Colombia.

The youth men’s team closed in third place All Around with a score of 223,535, only behind the representatives of the United States and Colombia, who obtained a record of 229,802 and 229,767, respectively.

National gymnasts Juan David Hernández, Aarón Ibarra, Diego Jaime and Darío Solorza achieved their place on the podium among nine qualified teams, beating the powers of Brazil and Canada.

This bronze medal is the second that Mexico obtains in the Pan American Championship that combines both categories, after the senior women’s team opened the national metals account in the All Around team modality.

The activities will continue this Friday, May 24, when the senior teams compete in the individual finals. In women, they will compete in vault, floor, beam and uneven bars, while in men, they will compete in floor, rings and fixed bar.
