This Sunday, May 26, social leaders and war veterans called for a sit-in in support of the Military Forces outside the Pichincha Battalion, located south of Cali.

In dialogue with RCN Radio, Freddy Castro, spokesperson for the mobilization, assured that “More than 90 thousand people will gather to reject the actions of the Government National”. Which he also described as “illegitimate.”

“In the historic mobilization of April 21 of this year, there were more than 90 thousand people in Cali, we wait for those same people to continue the work of keep pressing and protesting for all actions of an illegitimate and abusive nature What is happening with this Government that we consider illegitimate, is almost an usurpation,” Castro said.

Likewise, he assured that the main objective of this sit-in is support the Military and Police Forces who are being “persecuted” by illegal armed groups.

“As another citizen I am united with this type of organizations, we want to hold a sit-in in Colombia in order to to provide full support to our Armed Forceswhere we give our support, because what we are experiencing right now cannot continue happening, a chase where police and soldiers are being murdered“he added.

Furthermore, he stated that “we are noticing How illegal armed groups advance in different places“They have taken the departments of Cauca, Nariño, Huila, Santanderes, Chocó and they have already entered the Valley, the whole country knows it,” he concluded.
