The mayor of Jamundí, Paola Castillo, explained the reason behind these measures: “Given the recent incidents of insecurity in our municipality, we have made the decision to implement these extraordinary measures to protect the community and guarantee a safe environment for everyone.“.

The curfew, which will be in force From Saturday, May 25 to Tuesday, May 28, free movement will be restricted from 11:00 pm to 5:00 am the following day.. For its part, the dry law will begin from 10:00 pm on Saturday and will remain until 10:00 am on Tuesday, prohibiting the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages.

These measures also affect other municipalities in Valle del Cauca that have also taken similar restrictions, such as Dagua, Florida, Pradera and Guacarí.

The mayor too stressed the importance of complying with these provisions to avoid economic sanctions and to contribute to the reduction of violence in JamundYo. Although exceptions have been established for essential personnel and emergency cases, local police and other security forces will be vigilant to ensure compliance with these measures and protect the community.
