Cienfuegos, Cuba.- The XVI Carlos Rafael Rodríguez In Memoriam National Colloquium sponsored by the University of Cienfuegos was closed in this city, keeping alive the work of the intellectual and politician, who served for more than 40 years in the Cuban Revolution.

The closing ceremony was attended by the highest authorities of the province and the Carlos Rafael Rodríguez Honorary Award was presented to the Master David Soler Marchan, for his contributions to culture and research.

Adisley Ibañez Hernández, President of the Carlos Rafael Rodríguez Honorary Chair, of the house of higher studies highlighted the work of the Cienfuegos resident, by giving one of the 60 investigative conferences that were held for two days.

They remembered Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, who was closely linked to Carlos Rafael Rodríguez and united to the economic thought of the Heroic Guerrilla Ernesto Che Guevara.

For her part, Dania Rodríguez García, daughter of Carlos Rafael, expressed joy at seeing the youth presenting presentations, and this Friday they placed a wreath at his tomb erected in the Tomás Acea Cemetery, in La Perla del Sur.

I want to thank Cienfuegos, he said, for the tribute it pays and how it stays alive, through the University, the Library, the departments of Culture, Education and the Party. Everyone really makes these activities possible.
