A man, whose identity is unknown, was captured in flagrante delicto for the crimes of manufacturing, trafficking, carrying or possession of firearms, after being surprised with five pistol-type weapons in his possession that, apparently, he intended to market in Barranquilla with groups dedicated to different crimes such as homicides and extortion.

The operation was carried out in the last hours by members of the Magdalena Transit and Transportation Police, while this subject was traveling on an interdepartmental bus bound for the capital of the Atlanticafter allegedly purchasing the weapons in the municipality of Maicao (La Guajira).

Colonel Jorge Bernal, commander of the Magdalena Police, confirmed that the passenger had the weapons inside a briefcase and that the marks on each one corresponded to Prieto Bereta, Rugger and Smith Wesson.

“Where, when a search was carried out, he was found in his possession, under the modality of concealment, five pistol-type weapons, caliber 9 millimeters, brands Prieto Bereta, Rugger and Smith Wesson. These, apparently, would be delivered in Barranquilla to members of different criminal organizations with influence in this area of ​​the country,” Bernal explained.

In addition, it was confirmed that the weapons came from Venezuela, and the captured person was left at the disposal of the competent authorities for the purposes of his prompt prosecution. “The captured person, as well as the seized weapons, were left at the disposal of the competent authorities.”
