The composer and singer of vallenato music Omar Gelesdied at the age of 57 in the city of Valledupar, and his contribution to musical culture will be remembered this Saturday May 25at 3:30 in the afternoonwith the RTVC Noticias special that will reach all regions of the country thanks to the convergence of Signal Colombia, a channel with DTT coverage in more than 93% of the Colombian population, together with Radio Nacional de Colombia, which is heard in the more remote places with its 68 frequencies.

The composer of ‘The Paths of Life’, ‘Late I Met Him’, ‘Look for a Confidant’, ‘A Blanco y Negro’, ‘When the Millions Come’ and more than 800 songs, will have a special farewell program that is unmatched, thanks to the archives of Diseño Memoria, which has the largest collection of public radio and television in Colombia.

Omar Geles’ last live performance was last Sunday, May 19, at the Silvestre Dangond concert at the El Campín stadium in Bogotá, but his appearances on stage were countless alongside great performers, mainly as an accordion player, an instrument he dominated. with a high level and which made him worthy of being crowned King Vallenato in 1989.
