Scholarships in Neuquén: Figueroa joined Pluspetrol to finance the plan

The governor of Neuquén, Rolando Figueroasigned an agreement this Monday with company directors Pluspetrol to contribute $500,000 to the Gregorio Álvarez scholarship plan. The oil company is the seventh to commit funds to the program inaugurated by the government and for which financial aid is being paid to more than 10,200 students.

“Just as other companies did, Pluspetrol will contribute to the student scholarship program, which guarantees equal opportunities from the initial cycle to higher education, throughout our province,” Figueroa reported today.

The agreement was signed in Neuquén with the general manager of the firm, Adrian Vila. With this contribution of $500,000, Pluspetrol will join the scholarship program as a “silver” ally.

Platinum contributors are those who contribute $1 million; those of gold those who contribute 750,000 dollars; silver ones from $500,000; and the bronze ones are those who collaborate with 250,000 dollars.

“The scholarship program is a strategic initiative promoted by the Neuquén Executive, which focuses on the most important capital that a society has, which is the education of its future generations,” said Vila.

So far, Neuquén has already added to the plan Gas and Petroleum of Neuquén (GyP), Pan American Energy (PAE), Vista, Tecpetrol, YPF and Phoenixin addition to the recent incorporation of Pluspetrol.

Figueroa had met with company directors last month and there they had announced their intention to participate in the program. Also, “in terms of infrastructure, they are willing to collaborate on different projects that help build routes and roads to improve the quality and safety of traffic in the Vaca Muerta region,” it had been indicated.

The disbursement for the scholarship plan will be added to the social investment contribution that the company is implementing in Neuquén, which will total 1.5 million dollars this year.
