The city ​​of Cordova will attend the meeting that celebrates the AVE Cities Network during this Tuesday and Wednesday in Zaragoza on the occasion of 20th anniversary of the foundation of this group. A meeting in which the capital of Cordoba strengthens its commitment to this group that unites cities and municipalities that are connected by rail using the infrastructure ofHigh speed Spanish and that they have a AVE stop or project to have one.

At this meeting, attended by the Deputy Mayor for Tourism, Daniel García Ibarrolathe objective with which the network was created in 2004 is renewed, which is “the promotion of destinations and creation of synergies among them to provide a tourist service of excellence,” reports the Córdoba City Council in a press release.

At national and international fairs

Since that first meeting twenty years ago in Zaragoza, with nine destinations joined at that time, the AVE Cities Network has been present annually at national fairs such as Fitur, B-Travel or Aratur, among others, and in international dating such as the ITB in Berlin, the WTM in London, or the Anato in Colombia, as well as in international conferences in China, Japan, Korea, Argentina or Mexico. Currently, a total of 33 associated destinations (Albacete, Alicante, Antequera, Barcelona, ​​Castelló, Calatayud, Ciudad Real, Córdoba, Cuenca, Elche, Figueres, Gijón, Granada, León, Lleida, Loja, Madrid, Málaga, Murcia, Orihuela, Ourense, Palencia, Puertollano, Segovia, Seville, Tarragona, Toledo, Valencia, Valladolid, Villanueva de Córdoba, Villena, Zamora and Zaragoza), an attached city (Talavera de la Reina) and two autonomous communities (Andalusia and Castilla-La Mancha).

During the two days of the event, the AVE Cities Network will organize a meeting with travel agents from Barcelona, ​​Madrid and Zaragoza organized in collaboration with the Spanish Confederation of Travel Agencies, Renfe and Zaragoza Turismo. During the course of the assembly there will be welcome to the city of Gijón to this network. In addition, a technical meeting will be held in which the group’s future strategy will be analyzed.

García Ibarrola has highlighted the “good health” that this network enjoys two decades after its launch and has indicated that “it is a privilege to be part of this group, because brings added value to the city of Córdoba, since it allows us to work hand in hand with cities that also have important tourism potential.”
