He Mall of Santa Fe made a new report on the number of local unemployed surveyed in the main commercial arteries of the city. The document shows a 10% increase in the number of unoccupied businesses within a period of seven months, going from 1,216 in October 2023 to 1,338 in May 2024.

This number had barely decreased between the surveys carried out in April 2023 and October 2023, having reached the figure of 1,216 unoccupied stores compared to 1,237 in April, although a significant increase in empty businesses was currently revealed. The current number is the highest in terms of the number of vacant premises since April 2022 in Santa Fe.

Most affected commercial arteries

Peatonal San Martín was the most affected commercial artery in terms of the number of stores that closed from October last year to the present, with activity having been lost in 34 stores and going from 550 occupied stores to 516, with 139 businesses closed.

Another commercial avenue that suffered the vacancy of several premises in the last seven months was Avenida Blas Parera. In the western corridor of the city, 29 stores that were still active in this period of time were lost, going from having 332 businesses operating to currently having 303.

Obispo Gelabert is the street with the highest percentage of vacant premises in Santa Fe today. The corridor that runs parallel to Bv. Pellegrini has 34% of its premises unoccupied, just above the 32.9% with 32 of its 97 premises available without being open to the public. General López is the other avenue that is very compromised in the percentage of its unoccupied premises, with 28% vacancy as a result of having 13 of its 32 empty premises.

Avenues with the highest percentage of open stores

The avenue that currently has the highest percentage of occupied premises is Bv. Pellegrini, with 91% of businesses open and only 21 closed stores out of a total of 242. Freyre Avenue follows, concentrating 90% occupancy of stores, with 25 unoccupied businesses out of a total of 226 businesses. The podium is completed by Juan de Garay street, which maintains 88% of its premises active.

Rivadavia was the street that added the most stores to its list of active businesses in the last seven months, registering 15 new stores and adding 143 open businesses compared to the 38 closed. For its part, General Paz added seven stores to the list of open businesses and registers 316 active businesses and 46 closed.
