Within the framework of the National Santander edition, the livestock event organized with the power of Expoagro with the support of the Government of Corrientes, the consignee firms UMC and Haciendas Villaguay held a televised auction on Tuesday with more than 13 thousand heads filmed. Firm and agile demand for placement in all categories, in the first of the winter auctions that will take place this week at the Sociedad Rural de Corrientes.

The auction took place in one of the halls of the Riachuelo fairgrounds, and concentrated a good volume of property, with 143 lots filmed in different categories, and coming from different provinces, such as Corrientes, Chaco, Formosa, Entre Ríos, Santa Fe, Santiago del Estero and Tucumán. The sales were broadcast by streaming expoagro.com.ar and also by Canal Rural.

Nicolás Canessa, Juan Leandro Urioste, Bautista Bastanchuri and Agustín Barbieri were the auctioneers of the day, where there was a very agile placement in the different categories. Many representatives of the firm accompanied the event, as well as clients and friends of the auction firms.

“We are very happy, it was a very good auction, where all categories sold very well, even the steer, which was a little less in demand, was very firm,” commented Agustín Barbieri, one of the auctioneers of the day.

Regarding the averages by category, light calves sold for $2,160; calves weighing more than 200 kilos at $1,935; term calves with delivery in October at $2,200; steers weighing up to 300 kilos at $1,815, steers weighing more than 300 kilos at $1,680; mixed lots of calves and heifers at $1,900 for light ones and $1,860 for 200 kilo ones.

In the case of females, calves averaged $1,835 for those weighing up to 180 kilos and $1,745 for calves weighing 200 to 250 kilos. Heifers made an average of $1,710 and wintering cows $980. Lastly, pregnant bellies averaged $675,000 for heifers and $645,000 for new pregnant cows. In the case of cows with calf, they had an average of $800,000.

Most televised

This Wednesday another televised auction is taking place within the framework of the Nationals, in this case from Rosgan, which together with the consignors that make up this market have filmed more than 17 thousand heads, which are going on sale on TV and streaming. The auction will last throughout the day, with ranches filmed in different provinces in the center and north of the country.

On Thursday it will be the turn of Colombo and Magliano, which has already announced more than 14,500 heads for its televised auction, which will provide a unique framework for wintering marketing during this week, within the framework of this great livestock meeting organized by Expoagro.
