Employees of the Government of Antioquia protested due to disagreement in the management of the Housing Fund

Minute30.com .- On the morning of this Tuesday, June 4, there were strong protests and harangues in the Hall of the Government of Antioquia, on behalf of employees dissatisfied with what would be the new management of the Employee Housing Fund.

The participants in the protest denounce that the Governor of Antioquia Andrés Julián Rendón had announced the handover of the management of the Department’s Housing Fund to a private bank.

The disagreement lies, say the employees who participated in this Tuesday’s demonstration, in the fact that managing a loan in the Housing Fund is much simpler and without as much paperwork as that which must be carried out with the banks.

They also say that there are no valid reasons to “privatize” the management of the Housing Fund, since “It is not difficult for the department to maintain this program, while everything is complicated with the banks.”

Call for General Strike

During the strong protests, the Workers Union of the Department of Antioquia called for a General Strike of Activities, as a sign of dissatisfaction with this and other decisions made by the current Governor, and his cabinet, and with which they say they do not agree.
