In Salta there are already 732,887 active beneficiaries of the Sumar program, who receive health benefits in hospitals and First Level of Care establishments throughout the province.

Provincial health teams receive funds from the Sumar Program for the care they provide to the population under coverage.

The transferred funds allow the purchase of equipment, making building improvements in the institutions and training human resources.

Data

The population, according to its age range, is distributed as follows:

  • Newborns, babies and children up to 5 years old: 65,617
  • Boys and girls up to 9 years old: 58,718
  • Adolescents: 137,315
  • Adults: 471,237

The historical beneficiaries were 910,860, that is, people who, when they did not have social work, were included in the program.

Registration is free, it is carried out in all hospitals and health centers in the province with the presentation of the DNI of whoever is going to register and it is a condition for access through ANSES to the allocations for Child, Pregnancy and Comprehensive Health.

The Sumar Program is a public policy that promotes equitable and quality access to health services for the entire population that does not have explicit coverage.
