Find out about the news and incidents on Colombia’s roads for this Return Plan

On the return home after the festive long weekend, the National Highway Institute (Invías) reports that traffic is developing normally in most of the more than 10,000 km of roads under its administration. Users can expect a relatively smooth return with some exceptions due to recent weather conditions.

Cusiana Cross: The road between Sogamoso and Aguazul has normal traffic, although in some sectors there is passage restricted to a single lane. This adjustment is a consequence of the recent rain that has affected the stability of the road.

Calarca-Cajamarca: Last night, the rains caused a landslide at km 36 of this corridor. Fortunately, the Invías team has worked quickly to clear the road, allowing normal vehicle flow at this time.

Junín-Pedregal: In Nariño, the Ricaurte sector of this route faces a total closure due to landslides caused by heavy rains. Invías teams are working in the area to restore traffic as soon as possible.

Roads under repair: Intensive efforts continue to reopen the Pasto-Mocoa highway and the La Lejía (Norte de Santander)-Saravena (Arauca) section, both critical for regional connectivity.

The authorities report normal conditions on the roads in charge in the departments of Boyacá, Santander, Valle del Cauca, Chocó, Risaralda, Córdoba, Sucre, Meta, Atlántico, Caldas and Cundinamarca, which will facilitate the safe return of travelers to their homes.

The Invías recommends that all drivers pay attention to updates on the state of the roads and follow the instructions of the authorities. of transit to guarantee a safe and smooth return.
