In compliance with another commitment to the inhabitants of the Magical Neighborhood of Tlaxcala, the Head of the Executive Power of the State, Ricardo Gallardo Cardona, unveiled and handed over the bronze statue of Fray Diego de la Magdalena, who is recognized as the Founding father of the neighborhoods of the capital of Potosí and missionary trainer of the communities that inhabited the Potosí territory.
The President of Potosí highlighted the enormous legacy of Fray Diego de la Magdalena, since he consolidated his work for the beginning of the constitution of the neighborhoods of San Luis Potosí, which today is a source of historical pride for the people of Potosí, in addition to their contributions to evangelization.
Together with Priest Luciano Montejano Vela, Vicar of the Parish of Our Lady of the Assumption and Parish Priest Fernando Castro Villanueva, the Governor commented that “this bronze sculpture will delight the entire community, which is why I invite you to enjoy it.” , feel it as their own and above all, help us take care of it; since it is a legacy to be remembered by those who live in the neighborhoods of Tlaxcala, Santiago and surrounding areas,” he added.
On behalf of the Catholic community, the parish priest Fernando Castro Villanueva highlighted and thanked Governor Ricardo Gallardo for fulfilling his word so that the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption will have an effigy of one of the most important priests, who offered to evangelize for 20 years, managing to gain their respect and contributing significantly to socializing the communities to promote the formation of the Potosí neighborhoods.
