Ricardo Gareca not only took the time to praise Chile’s great performance against Paraguay at the National Stadium. El Tigre even took the time to comment on one of the most important news of the day: the signing of Gary Medel at Boca Juniors.
Hours before the game, and waiting for official confirmation, Pitbull reached an agreement with Juan Román Riquelme to return to Argentina. In the coming days he will sign a one-season contract with the club where he shone between 2009 and 2011 prior to his move to Europe.
“It’s spectacular, for him and Chilean football,” Gareca reacted. “He already had a successful time at the club, due to his career, I hope it happens if he can confirm it. It’s very good for what I have to do in the future. He makes me happy.”
Medel was not considered by Tigre for the friendly against Paraguay and the Copa América, however, the coach has made it clear that the doors are open for the legend of the Chilean team. His arrival in one of the two most competitive leagues on the continent will allow him to continue in the fight for a place in the Qualifiers.
