We will create favorable spaces in which books will be presented to be signed by their authors, recitals will take place and said copies can be downloaded in digital format by those passionate about poetic reading, he said.
Under the name Concilio de las Aguas, the cultural show that featured the music of the Nuestra América group served as a preamble to the contest, in which Cuban intellectuals such as Miguel Barnet, the Casa de las Américas Awards Luis Lorente, Reinaldo García and Luis Manuel Pérez and 30 poets from the province of Matanzas with national awards.
According to the official program, important figures of international literature will meet at Poetic Bridges, including the Palestinian poet Najwan Darwish, the Argentine writer Daniel Calabrese, the Cuban Víctor Rodríguez and the American Katherine M. Hedeen.
Puentes Poeticos will have as its main headquarters the areas surrounding Plaza Vigía in the city of Matanzas, with activities in sites of cultural relevance, including the Sauto Theater, a National Monument; the Office of the City Conservator, Ediciones Vigía and the Provincial Historical Archive.
