On March 15, it was learned that a guarantee control judge in Bucaramanga sentenced the former presidential candidate, Rodolfo Hernándezfor alleged corruption for the crime of undue interest in hiring with the case related to Vitalogic, entity that, at the time, when the engineer was mayor of Bucaramanga, would manage new technologies to provide a solution to the Carrasco landfill.

At the hearing two months ago, the judge decided to convict him because there was supposedly strong evidence that would show that Hernández and his son were interested in benefiting a contractor.

At the hearing for the reading of the sentence on June 13, the sentence handed down to the engineer was known, is the minimum, that is, 64 months in prison.

Due to his age and terminal cancer illness, The former presidential candidate will have house arrest.

This measure will only be applicable once the decision becomes final. That is, when all legal remedies are exhausted.

For its part, the team of engineer Rodolfo Hernández stated that it will appeal this decision, this means that this decision is not yet final.

The former mayor of Bucaramanga has always said that he is innocent and that he never had a meeting in his apartment with other people involved in the process of this scandal.
