The Judicial Investigation Organization (OIJ) confirmed the death of a man who was injured this Thursday afternoon in a shooting in the capital, specifically between 10th Street, 1st Avenue, in the sector known as the red zone.

The deceased was identified with the last name Boniche, 40 years old, who died a few minutes after entering the San Juan de Dios Hospital in serious condition. According to the Judicial Police, she had injuries to her abdomen, back and lower extremities. Another subject, named Román, 33 years old, who is believed to be a collateral victim, was treated at that same medical center for the bullets he received in the legs and is stable.

The OIJ is now looking for two men who were traveling on a motorcycle and who are responsible for shooting indiscriminately at that intersection in the capital where Boniche and Román were. Marcelo Solano, director of the San José Municipal Police, added that the hitmen carried out the shooting “without any fear of being recognized,” because in the place where the events occurred there are a large number of commercial cameras and the Municipal Police. .

“The images are being made available to the OIJ so that they can complete the investigation table and locate those responsible, who were both traveling on a motorcycle and whose route can be traced in images,” concluded Solano.
