With two ski centers, the snow season opens in Neuquén

Cerro Bayo and Chapelco will receive visitors starting this Saturday. The snow season formally begins in Neuquén, the province with the largest ski area in the country.

At the beginning of the first long weekend in June, two Neuquén ski centers will open to the public: they are Chapelco Ski Resort in San Martín de los Andes and Cerro Bayo in Villa La Angostura.

Although Cerro Bayo opened for pedestrians last Saturday, it decided to anticipate the opening of the Ski Center for tomorrow given the amount of snow that fell in recent days. For this reason, the entire beginners area at elevation 1500 and the middle area of the mountain that is accessed from elevation 1400 to 1600 via the TS Bosque lift will be available from tomorrow. This allows intermediate and advanced skiers to access different blue and red runs such as Piste 18, Tren Fantasma, Pista 9 and Isaías.

Chapelco Ski Resort, meanwhile, will open tomorrow – June 15 – the 2024 season. El Cerro will be operational for the public starting at 9, with the following lifts enabled: Gondola, Silla 63, Silla Graef and Palito. The slopes available at the opening will be: Pioneros up to 1600, Del Bosque, 63, Caminito up to 1600 and Del Palito.
