During the morning of Friday the 14th, merchants and passers-by in the central area of Coyhaique received the necessary information to make complaints to the different institutions related to public security, thanks to the operation of the Government on the Field program, of the Regional Presidential Delegation.
Coyhaique.- The dissemination and citizen education activity spread throughout the central area of the regional capital, including Paseo Horn, Plaza de Armas and Prat Street, with the participation of the Public Security Coordination, Municipal Citizen Security, directors of the Chamber of Commerce, officials of the GET program and Carabineros.
It was indicated that the objective of this deployment is to reinforce public security, allowing those who work and regularly circulate through the main streets of Coyhaique, to know the tasks that are currently being carried out to improve the perception of security and the contact telephone numbers to make inquiries. complaints and requests to public organizations, whenever situations arise that violate the security of citizens.
The regional delegate (s.) Samuel Navarro, assured that, for the government, the work to confront crime must involve all social actors and that on this occasion they sought to “mainly work on the promotion of citizen security numbers.” and in prevention together with the Chamber of Commerce and institutions, to face this public safety situation. The criminal does not distinguish who he attacks or who he confronts, therefore, we have to work together and that is the effort we are making as a government,” he added.
For her part, the president of the Chamber of Commerce, Deisy Mondelo, valued the initiative. “First of all, my thanks to the Presidential Delegation of the Aysén Region and the entities that have accompanied us, together with the municipality, the Public Security Coordination, Carabineros, to be here where our merchants and partners who have been affected by this wave of theft and robbery and illicit trade. Today we join this campaign, for a single flag, Chile and security, to improve their security,” the leader mentioned.
The merchants and neighbors who were approached by the institutions’ teams received brochures and instructions to communicate by telephone with security entities. Thus, for example, they were informed of the numbers of the Carabineros Quadrante Plan, Municipal Community Security (672675171), Municipal Inspection (672213200) and the Insurance Complaint phone number *4242, to which activities suspected of constituting crimes can be reported and done so free and anonymous.
Daniel Barría, representative of Comercial Acron, thanked the authorities and institutions for the visit, indicating that “I feel very supported by you, because we were very helpless. But I am happy for the visit they have made to us, because I am already working in this province for more than 52 years. And sometimes I felt alone, but not now, I am with you,” he commented.
Two other aspects disseminated to merchants within the framework of this operation were the delivery of community patrol vehicles to 6 communes and the nascent work table between the government and inspection institutions with the Chamber of Commerce, with which the aim is to strengthen the commerce established as a safe space for citizens, proposing inspection as part of a training process for the merchant and protection for the user.
