A gang from Viedma that sold items linked to criminal acts It was dismantled this Friday in a shocking operation organized by the Río Negro Police and the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
There were more than 18 raids that were carried out in private homes, as part of an investigation into an illicit association in charge of selling items allegedly stolen in robberies.
The procedures were developed simultaneously and with the presence of almost a dozen Prosecutors and representatives of the senior staff of the security force. The COER, the Criminalistics Office, also participated in the extensive deployment. It also involved the use of drones to record the procedure.
As reported by the MPF in a statement, a dozen raids took place in homes in the Ceferino neighborhood, the rest in others in the Lavalle, San Martín and Nehuen neighborhoods. That account had made almost 500 sales publications of different products that had been replicated in public and private groups on the same social network.
Although it did not correspond to a real person, they were able to verify at least 30 people who used fake profiles and replicated the sales publications by repeating the same photographs.
With these data, the Prosecutor’s Office ordered the intervention of the Telecommunications Investigation Office of the Attorney General, which carried out a cross-referencing of data with those obtained in the investigation of the Judicial Investigation Corps. After that, possible participants in said operations could be identified and telephone interventions were required that remained active for more than a month.
