Environmental guards from the Secretariat of Environment and Climate Change of Río Negro managed to rescue a whale that was stranded on the coast of Punta Villarino, San Antonio. The event had a happy outcome thanks to the coordinated work of several entities and people, official sources highlighted.

The rescue operation was mounted quickly and had the collaboration of Agustín Sánchez, local tourism provider, personnel from the Argentine Naval Prefecture and a group of researchers who were in the area.

“All of them worked tirelessly alongside our team to ensure the well-being of the cetacean and get it back to open waters.”

After hours of hard work and patience, the tide rose high enough and the whale was guided into deep water.

The undersecretary of Protected Natural Areas of Río Negro, Oscar Cozzani, was on site and expressed: “We want to greatly thank everyone involved. The happy outcome of this rescue is a testament to the power of cooperation and shared commitment to the protection of biodiversity,” he indicated.
