“My project is to serve”

“For priests, these tasks are not always the ones that one knows best,” declared Father Sorto Martínez to the press, “we see the bishop more close to the diocesans, to the faithful. For my part, I will be responsible for a diocese of military personnel, that is, for military personnel and the National Civil Police, they are the faithful we serve. They have their particularities: they spend a lot of time locked up, and there is a concordat between the Catholic Church and the State of El Salvador. My project is to serve”.

While the Cardinal Gregorio Rosa Chávez expressed that “It is a quite difficult mission, much more difficult today. He is able to do this job very well, He is a calm man, he knows how to listen, he is kind, very wise, prudent. We wish him the best in this service.”
