As a result of the social care strategy promoted by the Governor of the State, Ricardo Gallardo Cardona, by providing more support to the people of Potosí in the four regions and the generation of more better-paid jobs, San Luis Potosí was consolidated as the third Entity at the national level with the greatest progress in reducing working poverty with 10.7 percent, according to the National Council for the Evaluation of Social Development Policy (Coneval).
During the first quarter of 2024, San Luis Potosí registered historic lows in the percentage of the population in working poverty, where the income is less than the cost of the basic food basket, highlighted the technical secretary of the State Population Council (Coespo), Mayra Edith Velázquez Loera.
The official highlighted that the reduction in working poverty is another example of the success of the programs implemented by Governor Ricardo Gallardo, who has managed to inject greater economic dynamism into the State, which translates into attracting investments, more infrastructure projects. and the creation of jobs with an improvement in purchasing power.
Velázquez Loera indicated that the Entity of Potosí has achieved an advance of six positions at the national level since the percentage of the population in a situation of working poverty has never been so low since this indicator has been recorded, so the work of the president Potosí has been notable in improving the quality of life of the most vulnerable population and progress is being made in fulfilling the 2030 Agenda and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals, particularly “Zero Hunger” so that no one is left behind. in San Luis Potosi.
