With the help of the Province, students from Santa Fe walk the Caminos de Belgrano to celebrate Flag Day

Within the framework of the activities planned to commemorate Flag Day, the Government of the Province, through the Ministry of Education, promotes a proposal through which students from Santa Fe will travel along Caminos de Belgrano.

Coordinated with local governments, the initiative seeks to vindicate the hero’s passage through our land through visits to the towns that were stops on his journey through Santa Fe such as Arequito, San Lorenzo, Coronda, Sauce Viejo, Santo Tomé, Santa Fe , Casilda, Fuentes and Rosario.

In these places, in addition, fourth grade students from regular primary schools and adults will make their corresponding Pledges of Loyalty to the flag, sheltered by areas that opportunely gave shelter to Manuel Belgrano.

Routes, promises and messages

The activities will take place on two days according to the following schedule:

*Wednesday 19: 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., Monument to the Flag of Rosario; 1:30 p.m., Central Plaza of Arequito.

*Thursday 8:00 p.m.: 9 a.m., Posta Sauce Viejo; 10:30 a.m., Coronda Main Square; 10:30 am, esplanade of the Immaculate Conception Church of Santo Tomé; 2:30 p.m., Plaza Belgrano de Casilda.

The history

The revolutionary actions of General Manuel Belgrano are closely linked to the territory of Santa Fe. Our province saw him cross the fields leading the march of the soldiers who marched to Paraguay and Alto Perú. We propose to recognize that a large part of his ideology, his political practices, his concerns, his renunciations, were forged in the long journeys through Santa Fe soil, that land that has occupied a strategic place during the decade of 1810, in which He feverishly deployed the Belgranian project.
