In Tierra del Fuego, public organizations are prevented from accessing people’s data

The Government of Tierra del Fuego established by decree that all organizations under the public orbit will be prevented from requesting citizens the contribution or accreditation of any information and/or data that the Provincial State itself already possesses, to carry out procedures of any kind.

Decree 1169/24 was published last Thursday – June 14 – in the Official Gazette, where it is stated that this provision is “for any processing and/or management” that the citizen carries out before public agencies throughout the province.

The organizations include decentralized entities or companies of the Provincial State, and it is established that they will be prevented from requesting any data “that the State already manages or generates in its bases and/or records.”

At the same time, it is mentioned that the above will govern “with the exception of any situation, defect or fact not attributable to the Provincial State that temporarily affects the tools that allow access to said information, which affects the immediacy of the procedure promoted by the citizen.” .
