This Wednesday, June 19, at least 100 air operations have been suspended in El Trompillo due to the 24-hour stoppage of activities carried out by pilots and air operators throughout the country.

Aviation schools, air taxis, crop dusting planes and rescue aircraft, among others, They have folded to the pressure measurement carried out by the Civil Aviation Unity Front – General of Bolivia.

Álvaro Mungnia, spokesperson for this organization, recalled that general aviation activities are suspended in the municipalities of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Riberalta, Santa Ana de Yacuma and Trinidad, among other places where aviation operators work.

The measure taken by aviation workers is due to the “deficient and negligent management developed by Naabol, “which puts air operations at risk, therefore, puts the life and physical integrity of passengers and users of air transport at risk,” says a document sent by the Civil Aviation Unity Front.

Mungnia indicated that, so far, Naabol representatives have not contacted representatives of this sector to respond to their demands.

What happens in Viru Viru?

Although operations in El Trompillo have been suspended, at the Viru Viru international airport the departure and arrival of domestic and foreign flights are normal.

“The protest measures are not to interfere with the platforms, movement areas or the aeronautical part. “Our protest is to show the unity of the sector,” Mungnia explained and added that commercial flight workers are within another group.
