In the east of Cali, capital of the department of Cauca’s Valley, found in the Palazzo motel, in the Ciudad Modelo neighborhood, the lifeless bodies of a 32-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman, after hearing several gunshots inside the room.

The bodies were found on the night of June 19 at the Palazzo motel, located on Calle 36 and Carrera 39A. The authorities are investigating the possible causes of their deaths; One of the possibilities is that it was a homicide followed by a suicide.
“Last night, at approximately 9:30, a report was received of a possible case of homicide and suicide at a motel in the Ciudad Modelo neighborhood. According to the information collected by surveillance personnel, several explosions were heard,” indicated Colonel Germán Manrique, deputy commander of the Cali Metropolitan Police for El Tiempo.
“After receiving the report, the surveillance patrol arrived at the scene and found the lifeless bodies in one of the rooms.. Currently, the necessary investigations are being carried out to clarify the time, manner and circumstances surrounding these events,” he added.

The units of the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI) of the Attorney General’s Office arrived at the site to remove the bodies. The first reports issued by the authorities confirmed that the two people had died.

The woman had a bullet wound to her head and, in turn, not enough details were provided about the man’s injuries. The main hypothesis is that the man murdered the woman and then he decided to take his own life.

The bodies were transferred to the Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences. to perform the autopsy and establish the cause of their deaths and discover what happened in that room.
