The Government of La Rioja will open during the next week – and until December 13 – the call for aid to encourage the implementation of research, development and innovation projects by companies, self-employed workers, technology centers and research organisations, with the aim of creating new products, processes or services, or significantly improving existing ones. The ADER has increased the budget by 40 percent compared to recent years, reaching 5.5 million euros by 2024.

The Minister of Economy, Innovation, Business and Self-Employment, Belinda León, highlighted during the presentation that these aid “offer the possibility of improving the technological level and competitiveness of Riojan companies.” Likewise, it has influenced the collaboration of companies with technology centers, research organizations, universities and clusters, “in such a way that said research is of the highest level and contributes to more intense present and future collaboration with this type of organizations.”

In these cases, as well as in the development of technologies and areas of specialization defined in the RIS-3 strategies, and in those projects declared of strategic interest for La Rioja by the Government Council, a premium of between 15 percent will be applied. and 20 percent.

In experimental development, the premium can reach 40 percent and in industrial research, up to 65 percent. In addition, maximum rates are maintained for research organizations and R&D projects that obtain a Horizon Europe Seal of Excellence are admitted and individualized, applying higher rates.

All applications in this call benefit from administrative simplification, thanks to the pre-application process and the elimination of certain documentation in the supporting account (Corporate Tax) and in the presentation of account audits.

These grants also support the development of prototypes and pilot projects, and encourage innovation projects in organizational matters, such as the development of new production methods, new and advanced control methods, or their significant improvement. The maximum limit per application amounts to 400,000 euros in individual projects and 600,000 euros in collective projects.

The manager of the ADER, Luis Pérez Echeguren, has considered that through this call for R&D projects (program 1) and for innovation projects in terms of processes and organization (program 2), “we seek to advance in the digital society and knowledge, in the competitive industry and in the sustainable and cohesive ecoregion”. In the case of R&D projects, Pérez Echeguren specified, co-financing with FEDER funds is possible.
