Authorities of the municipality of Yopal have carried out 226 censuses in the communities impacted by the floods, visiting each home, diagnosing and evaluating the damage suffered by each family due to the increase in the flow of local water bodies.

“We have identified a total of 561 affected families, which represents a significant number. The emergency humanitarian assistance phase is underway to provide aid to these communities,” said the head of the OTGRDY, Harbey Ramírez Ávila.

Affected Homes

Likewise, it was learned that 21 homes have suffered damage, and 14 of them have been completely destroyed due to landslides and mass removal.

Unfortunately, one person lost their life during the increases in flows generated by the southern Cravo River on May 28.

Once the censuses are completed, as a requirement of the National Risk Management Unit and within the framework of the declaration of public calamity for the Department, it is expected to deliver humanitarian aid to the affected families in a short time.

This declaration of public calamity by the Government of Casanare allows for a coordinated and subsidiary response to provide humanitarian assistance to affected families.
