Yulieth Sanchezcongressman of Democratic Center, spoke out after a van from its security scheme ran over a woman this Thursday afternoon, near the Congress of the Republic (Bogotá).
Through a statement published on their social networks, they indicated that “We regret what happened in the center of Bogotá in the afternoon hours with the truck of the Representative to the Chamber, Yulieth Sánchez, where a person is injured and the façade of an establishment affected by this road accident,” the document reads.
The driver of the vehicle, an advisor to the representative, also spoke and explained what happened in this sector of the Colombian capital.
“I go down the entrance of the normal Congress vehicle, when I close a vehicle, what I do is turn it there and, at the moment of turning, it crosses her (the cyclist), To avoid it, what I do is try to hit the colonial house.”said Camilo Arenas.
The victim was sent to a health center to receive medical care. At the moment, she is waiting to know her state of health.
