A violent car bomb attack shook the town of Remolino, in the municipality of Taminango, Nariño, this Friday afternoon. The explosion, occurred in the vicinity of the local police station, So far, it has left two people dead and 10 injured, according to official sources.

Among the fatal victims are a police assistant and a woman, whose names have not yet been revealed. Of the 10 injured, it has been confirmed that at least three are uniformed members of the National Police, while the other seven are civilians. One of the agents is in critical condition, according to an official source.

The attack occurred when a vehicle loaded with explosives was parked near the township police station. The detonation not only affected people in the immediate vicinity, but also caused significant structural damage in the area.

So far, no armed group has claimed responsibility for the attack. However, The region has been the scene of activities of illegal armed groups, including FARC dissidents.
