In an effort aimed at weakening drug trafficking in the municipality of La Plata, department of Huila, 15 alleged members of the Common Organized Criminal Group known as ‘La Banda’ were captured in flagrante delicto, thanks to a coordinated and interagency operation between its Colombian Air Force, National Police and the Attorney General’s Office.
The events took place in the Vereda San Isidro, where according to citizen complaints, this group had been carrying out activities outside the law, which were putting security, tranquility and public health at risk, due to the supposed increase in consumers in the sector. .
Those captured were placed at the disposal of the competent authority for the crimes of conspiracy to commit a crime, trafficking, carrying or possession of firearms and manufacturing, trafficking or carrying narcotics; Likewise, two pistol-type firearms, dosage items, 3,615 grams of marijuana and 4.1 grams of cocaine were seized.
