About thirty Ibero-American experts attend the II Meeting of Ibero-American Leaders for Education, co-organized by the Organization of Ibero-American States for Education, Science and Culture and the International University of La Rioja.

The event aims for participants to debate and exchange innovative and successful educational practices put into practice in their respective countries.

Representatives of organizations and international institutions in the field of education from Colombia, Brazil, Ecuador, Argentina, Chile, Spain and Uruguay, among others, participate in this contest, where Colombian education secretaries from regions such as Antioquia, Atlántico, Boyacá stand out. and Casanare; SEREMI delegates from Chile, from regions such as Magallanes and Chilean Antarctica and from the Tarapacá region, and the Ministers of Education from Tierra del Fuego and the Argentine Malvinas.

One of the purposes of this second meeting is to strengthen educational quality and work to guarantee its inclusive mission. “The poverty standards in the region are unacceptable,” said Óscar Naranjo, president of the Social Council of UNIR.

“At the same time, it is necessary to offer full coverage so that our young Latin Americans stay away from organized crime mafias. “Our countries are very threatened by scourges such as kidnappings, extortion, and human trafficking.” We come here to listen and learn from men and women, from their experiences and knowledge in their territories,” considered the education leader.

The session agenda has been marked by four presentations or main axes, around which subsequent debate tables have been established with the participation of all Ibero-American leaders. These contents have been: learning through emotion; conflict mediation in educational environments, Artificial Intelligence, teacher training and active methodologies to promote critical thinking.

Within the framework of the summit, it has been possible to highlight some programs that the university must develop, such as those related to the transfer of knowledge and research to the territories, the training of teachers in Artificial Intelligence and digital skills.
