A series of emergencies were addressed in this last frontal system in the province of Petorca

This frontal system that affected the region of Valparaíso and the province of Petorca, on Friday, June 21 and Saturday, June 22, presented various emergencies that were addressed by municipal teams and government services.

Regarding the water fall, the figures were:

In emergency matters, in La Ligua there are road cuts in the Longotoma, Casas Viejas, and Trapiche sectors due to flooding of estuaries and flows. We maintain about 100 people in the town of Jaururo with supply interruption due to the breakage of the Esval feeder due to flooding of the estuary, therefore emergency ponds were available for contingency. Petorca presented flooding of rivers and estuaries. There were minor road accidents and problems with electrical poles that were diverted from the route, specifically in the Frutillar sector, which was reported to Cge, who with their teams will carry out the necessary maintenance.

In the commune of Zapallar, the Blanquillo sector underpass, route 5 north, was disabled due to accumulation of rainwater. The Estero Santa Rosa, in the town of Cachagua, was opened controlled and preventively to the sea due to the risk of flooding. On the other hand, in the Laguna de Zapallar sector, there was an increase in flow that destroyed the pedestrian crossing. Minor flooding occurred in the Aires de Catapilco residential sector and the number of people affected is still pending. Closure of route E-46, Laguna Catapilco, from km 11 to 19 is maintained.

In the municipality of Cabildo, a contingency plan for tailings from the Las Cenizas Mining remains active, with 24/7 monitoring. Rainfall was intense in the sector. The security parapet reached its maximum capacity, and due to the measures imposed on the company, there were no effects like those produced in the previous frontal system.

Until now, and until they are cleaned and cleared by Highways and municipal teams, the following routes are closed or with caution in transit:

  • Route E-462 at Tierras Blanca height is closed to all traffic. Km12 to 19.
  • Cuesta La Canela closed to all traffic.
  • It costs La Grupa with wheels, traffic with caution.
  • Road to Valle Hermoso along the Tricam closed due to flooding of the River.
  • Route E-411 (Cabildo-San Lorenzo) with roads.
  • Route E-411 (Cabildo-Putaendo) closed to all traffic.
  • Camino La Chacarilla, La Ligua closed due to traffic.
  • Route E-30-F km. 9 hill detachment, traffic with caution.
  • Route E-244 on the way to Las Salinas closed due to danger of landslide.
  • Route E-445 Cuesta la Mostaza closed.
  • Route E-375 Cuesta Alicahue – Sobrante closed.
