The Agricultural Development Institute (INDAP) and the National Youth Institute (INJUV) have launched a special invitation to rural young people in the Valparaíso region to participate in a digital citizen consultation. The main objective of this initiative is to collect valuable information that will serve as a basis for the development of public policies aimed at this important segment of the population.

Rural youth are a priority for the government of President Gabriel Boric, who ordered the Ministry of Agriculture to create a National Rural Youth Policy. This process is being led by INDAP, together with the Office of Agrarian Studies and Policies (ODEPA), INJUV and the Undersecretariat of Agriculture.

“As the Valparaíso National Youth Institute, we invite the youth of the region to be part of this process where the objective is to know the opinion and vision of the youth who reside, study or work in rural areas, which allows us to generate public policies. that promote the development of capabilities and improve the quality of life of rural youth,” indicated the regional director(s) of INJUV Valparaíso, María Paz Acevedo Manríquez.

In this regard, the regional director of INDAP, Sergio Valladares, expressed that “the participation of rural young people in this citizen consultation is crucial for the development of effective public policies that respond to their needs and aspirations. Together with INJUV we call on all rural youth in the Valparaíso region to join this important initiative and contribute with their voice to the construction of a more inclusive, sustainable and resilient future for the rural youth of Chile,” the authority stated. .

The fundamental purpose of the National Rural Youth Policy is to promote the development of capabilities, generate new opportunities, improve the quality of life and promote the economic, social, cultural and institutional transformation of rural youth. With this citizen consultation, we seek to listen to the voices of young people and ensure that their needs and aspirations are considered in the formulation of policies that directly benefit them.

The Digital Citizen Consultation will be open until June 24, by entering the INDAP website: www.indap.gob.cl and is aimed at young people between 15 and 40 years old who live, study and/or work in the countryside.
