Ambassador of Argentina and solar panels: “In Chile there was an overreaction”

The Argentine ambassador in Chile, Jorge Faurie, referred to the controversial installation of solar panels at Milestone 1indicating that there was an “overreaction” from some sectors.

“On the Argentine side there was decidedly no overreaction. ANDThe question of alerting the guys: look we were installing the panel wrong“explained the ambassador in the National State of TVN.

Despite the above, he indicated that “In Chile there was an overreaction in a sector of opinionbecause It wasn’t that dramatic. (…) It did not have the impact it had in Argentina.”

“The Strait (of Magellan) is something valuable and it is clear that it is Chilean” and that “it is not a shared territory,” added the ambassador.

In space, Faurie noted that statements that the panels should be removed in the summer were a “personal error”.

I assumed that the good weather was going to come in the spring, and there I said at some point that by October they would be able to release it,” he said.

“Chile is more sensitive in caring for its territory,” he added.

Finally, regarding President Boric’s statements, he indicated that “It was not an ultimatum, it was a normal statement.”
