Edelaysen, in its constant commitment to the education and development of future electricity professionals in the region through its “Electrical High Schools” program, in collaboration with the NGO Canales, transported the students of the specialty of electricity from the Luisa Rabanal Palma High School in Chile Chico.

“We are proud to be part of the training of young people and to encourage their knowledge in electricity,” declared Francisco Pavez, executive of Edelaysen, adding that “activities like this are essential to inspire the next generation of professionals and to encourage greater interest in technical careers.”

During the enriching experience, the young people had the opportunity to tour the hydroelectric plant, located in the Río Los Palos sector of the Aysén commune, where they learned first-hand about the energy generation process. Guided by professionals, the students made consultations and deepened their knowledge in the field of electricity.

Raúl Retamal, a teacher of the electricity specialty at the Chile Chico establishment, highlighted that: “we are in a privileged place to learn about hydroelectric generation, which is something that the children had not seen. For us it is important to know how this type of energy is produced, since as we come from Chile Chico, they see the thermal part but not the hydroelectric generation and for them this is very good and educational because in the end it ends up helping to improve learning of the students”.

For her part, Claudia Bunster from ONG Canales highlighted that: “Thanks to the collaboration and joint work that we have been doing with Edelaysen, the public policy technical future network of the Ministry of Education of the Ministry of Education executed by ONG Canales and the Regional Secretary of Education Aysén, teachers and students of the Bicentenario Luisa Rabanal Palma high school, have managed to learn about the facilities of the Hydroelectric Power Plant in the region, which has allowed them to have a more global vision of the regional electrical system, thus strengthening their motivation, by knowing the different areas where they can work as future technicians in the region.”

It should be noted that the day concluded with an award to the student who correctly answered the question posed by the professionals, highlighting their understanding and enthusiasm for what they learned during their tour of the entire plant.
