Among those surrendered are two minors, ages 15 and 17, who had been forcibly recruited by this armed group.

In a rural area of ​​the town of El Bordo, located in the municipality of Patía, Cauca, eight members of the residual organized armed group Jaime Martínez structure of the Central General Staff of the FARC voluntarily surrendered to the troops of the High Mountain Battalion No. 4 of the National Army.

These individuals, who were part of the Franco Benavides structure in Nariño, would have orders to carry out terrorist actions in the municipality of Suárez, Cauca.

This group has been accused of committing recent violent acts against the Public Force and the civilian population, including harassment in the Robles district, Valle del Cauca, as well as attacks with explosives against the Police in Popayán, Morales, Suárez, Cajibío and an attack on the Military Base in the La Salvajina dam sector, Cauca.

After the pressure of military operations in the region and the presence of the troops, the members of this structure decided to submit to justice.

The minors were handed over to the Colombian Institute of Family Welfare for the restoration of their rights.
