Modest growth of the manufacturing industry in Magdalena

In a modest 12th place with a performance of 7.1%, among the 32 departments of Colombia, the Department of Magdalena was ranked in relation to the manufacturing industry during the immediately previous month, according to the report of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and MinCit Tourism.

However, it was ranked third among the eight departments of the Caribbean Coast, behind Cesar and La Guajira, which were within the Top 10 of the regions with the highest manufacturing competitiveness index.

“Several departments promoted the recovery of the manufacturing industry of the Country of Beauty in the month of April, which, as already known, had a growth of 4.1%. Boyacá, Tolima and Risaralda had the highest positive variations in the fourth month of the year,” the MinCIT report states in one of its sections.

According to the report, Pereira, Cali and Bogotá showed the best results, with variations of 16%, 13% and 10.4%, respectively, a greater difference, compared to other cities such as Yumbo with 10.3% and Medellín with 10.2%.

The weighted increase in the departments of Amazonas, Arauca, Caquetá, Casanare, Cesar, Chocó, Huila, La Guajira, Magdalena, Meta, Nariño, Norte de Santander, Putumayo, Quindío, San Andrés and Sucre was 7.1%, higher to that registered by other regions, such as Valle del Cauca 5.9%, Antioquia 5.8%, Cundinamarca 5.4% and Santander 4.1%.
