A security camera recorded the moment in which a ‘motothief’ violently shaves a woman’s purse on Carrera 13 and Calle 34, in the center of Bucaramanga. This event occurred around 3:00 in the afternoon last Friday, June 21.

In the video you can see when the criminal drives cautiously to find his victim. Once he finds his target, he goes the wrong way and steals the belongings of a woman who was in the company of an elderly woman.

The victim of the assault runs off with the intention of catching up with him, however, the thief sneaks away on his motorcycle.

This case occurs five days after the violent assault suffered by a young psychologist in the vicinity of the ‘La Novena’ Viaduct.

In the midst of celebrating the first soccer league title won by Atlético Bucaramanga, last Sunday, June 16, two ‘motothieves’ attacked Angie Marcela Amado Cárdenas. That night, she was riding her motorcycle when criminals caught up with her, shaved her bag and made her fall from the vehicle, at the entrance to the Balconcitos neighborhood.

Unfortunately, the young woman suffered a serious blow to her head. She was taken to the emergency room at the La Merced Clinic, where doctors confirmed that the victim had clots. Amado underwent surgery, however, her memory was affected.

“She doesn’t remember anything after the attack. She doesn’t even remember that she had complex surgery done. She doesn’t know how many days she has been in the hospital. She does recognize us, but every day she asks where she is and why she is in a clinic. After the accident, her mind wandered,” a relative told Vanguardia.

In this regard, Mayor Jaime Andrés Beltrán reported that a reward of $10 million was established for any citizen who contributes information to find the criminals.
