These spaces will provide voluntary outpatient treatments for people with problems associated with substance use. They are made up of an interdisciplinary team of technicians specialized in addiction issues.

This Monday, within the framework of the beginning of the Provincial Drug Abuse Prevention Week, the Minister of Health, Ricardo Pieckenstainer, launched new addiction care clinics at the Eva Perón, Elpidio Torres and Florencio Díaz hospitals in the city. capital.

These spaces will provide voluntary outpatient treatments for people with problems associated with the use of alcohol, tobacco, marijuana or other substances; and accompaniment to their family members or emotional references.

During the inauguration, the minister highlighted the importance of linking hospital activity with the activities of the Secretariat for Prevention and Assistance of Addictions, and emphasized: “The opening of these clinics speaks of the commitment that these hospitals have with the current problems of a big city”.

In addition, he highlighted the inter-institutional work that is being carried out to address these problems and added: “Today we are trying to put into operation a new paradigm, which is not easy, because it involves adapting much of what we preconceive as health, to the needs and current problems that the community around the hospital has. In some way, be more visible and tangible to the real problems we have today.”

For his part, the Secretary of Addiction Prevention and Assistance, Santos García Ferreira, stated: “The decision of the Ministry of Health allows us to generate a synergy between the approach offered by our Secretary with the daily care provided by the Hospital.”

This new device is made up of an interdisciplinary team of technicians specialized in addiction issues, made up of a psychologist, social worker, psychiatrist and therapeutic operator.

The attention of these offices is of spontaneous demand, at the following times:

Elpidio Torres Hospital: Address Av. Juan B Justo 7100. Tuesday 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Wednesday 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Eva Perón Hospital: Address Av. Santa Ana 4860. Wednesdays from 1 to 5 p.m. and Thursdays from 1 to 4 p.m.

Florencio Díaz Hospital: Address September 11, 2900. Fridays from 1 to 5 p.m.
