Colombia started its participation in the 2024 Copa América on Monday on the right foot. With goals from Daniel Muñoz and Jefferson Lerma, the tricolor beat Paraguay 2-1 at the NRG Stadium in Houston (USA). Julio Enciso discounted for the Guaraníes.

It is the first chapter of a continental illusion that is more palpable for Colombian fans than in past editions. The tricolor arrived at this contest with more than two years of undefeated and an admirable present. Néstor Lorenzo reaped his first three points leading everyone’s team in an official tournament.

The figure of commitment was James Rodríguez, who assisted in Colombia’s two goals. The captain of the national team was substituted in the 89th minute and was applauded by the stadium, which was mostly dressed in yellow. Great support from the Colombian fans.

The tricolor did its homework in its debut and is now thinking about Costa Rica, its rival on the second date of Group D. Those led by Néstor Lorenzo will travel this week to Phoenix, Arizona, to face that commitment. The appointment is this Friday at 5:00 pm.
